The “Salad Sangria”

Hey Ladies & Gents,
Welcome to our new panel, The “King Of Cups”.
Before we start, I need to ask you for a little favor: Please trust me,
I am going to present to you the most surprising, unexpected, wowing cocktails.
We are going to start with a very simple to make yet makes you wonder cocktail, The “Salad Sangria”
This colorful version of Sangria is very refreshing and delicate in taste,
I just came to NYC, and in my first spirits tasting here, I came across sangria with cucumber,
Even though I was very familiar with cucumber in different cocktails,
It seemed a little odd to me at the time , so I decided to take it to the edge.

The Salad Sangria

For the “Salad Sangria” you will need:

  • grape/cherry tomatoes
  • celery
  • cucumbers
  • yellow bell pepper
  • red onion
  • mint
  • ginger
  •  Gin Hendrick’s
  •  Riesling
  • St, Germain
  • apple juice

The how to

First dice the red onion to cubes, rinse well and put in ice water, until the sharpness will disappear (in case of a strong onion,rinse and replace the ice water), and we got left only with the natural sweet taste of the red onion* cut the tomatoes to quarters,

Dice the cucumber (don’t peel, but wash good) and the bell pepper

Thinly slice the celery

Cut the ginger to thin sticks (Julians)in a 16 oz. mixing glass ( Yeah it’s a big one) add the following:

  • 4-5 mint leaves and 2 spoons from each beside the ginger
  • 0.75 oz. gin Hendricks
  • 1 oz. St. Germain
  • top the glass with crushed ice
  • Pour the white wine leaving about 1/2 inch from the top

Shake briefly just to get all the ingredients mix together to a colorful display,
Put back in glass,

Top with apple juice

Garnish mint sprig, cherry tomato and a ginger pyramid

You can also add radishes to the color mix, don’t forget to put them in ice water to get the sharpness out

Don’t be selfish, double, triple or quadruple the dozes and make a pitcher for all your friends

Soak the ginger in red wine, green creme de mint or even parfait amore to create a more colorful garnish.

Don’t forget to think happy thoughts while shaking,
